ABout Kris Taylor

Kris Taylor is a Portland, Maine based flutist, teacher, and chamber musician. 

A native of Michigan, she found her way to Maine for college, and never left.  While in Michigan she studied with Dr. Russell Friedewald at Michigan State University, as well as attending several well-known summer music camps.  In Maine she studied at Bates College with Doug Worthen, and studied Baroque Flute with Chris Krueger in Boston.  She has been a member of many chamber music groups during her career in Maine, and is currently a part of four ensembles.  See Ensembles page for more information.  

When not performing Kris can be found traveling, kayaking, hiking, cooking, gardening, and enjoying some of Portland's many fine restaurants.

She also enjoys adding to her collection of wooden flutes.
